Victoria Sexual Assault Centre

Date

2025

Location

Victoria, British Columbia

A website for a sexual assault centre carries a weight that most sites don't. The people arriving there are often in crisis, looking for help at one of the hardest moments of their lives, and a site that's confusing to navigate or difficult to update isn't just a business problem, it's a barrier between survivors and the support they need.

VSAC came to us with both problems. Their existing site had navigation that made it genuinely hard for visitors to find the right service for their situation, and a CMS that required technical intervention every time staff needed to update content. For an organization running multiple programs across counselling, victim services, education, and Indigenous outreach, that meant important information was often stale and staff were dependent on outside help to change it.

We restructured the navigation around the way survivors and supporters actually think when they arrive at the site: what do I need, who is this for, and how do I get there quickly. The visual redesign brought the site in line with the warmth and professionalism the organization deserves. And the CMS upgrade meant that when programs change, events get added, or news needs to go up, VSAC staff can handle it themselves without picking up the phone.

If you run a nonprofit or community organization whose website isn't keeping pace with the work you do, we understand the particular constraints of that environment and we know how to work within them.
