Alisha is an award-winning photographer with a distinct visual style and a business that spans several very different client types: weddings, engagements, maternity, and commercial branding sessions. The site she'd built herself on a generic template had none of her personality in it, and more practically, it treated all of her services the same way, which meant a couple looking for a wedding photographer and a business owner looking for branding shots were landing in the same undifferentiated experience and having to figure out for themselves where to go.
The design challenge was twofold. Melle had to translate Alisha's visual aesthetic, the actual feel of her photography, into a site that felt like an extension of her work rather than a frame around it. And the architecture had to be built around how each type of client thinks and what they need to see before they book, because the journey from "I need a wedding photographer" to a booking inquiry looks nothing like the journey from "I need headshots for my business."
We got both right, and we're still working with Alisha as her business grows and her service offerings evolve.
